| 2006 Yamaha Wolverines |
These two ATV's were recently put through
the paces on their desert debut and they performed nicely
as expected. It's amazing how much more ground you can cover in
a given time with an ATV compared to regular land vehicles, even
some of the best equipped land vehicles. And not only can you travel
faster with more comfort but you have more trail options with less
fear of getting your precious Hummer scratched up or even stuck.
Creosote bushes, which are all over the place
in the Mojave, constantly encroach into roads and unless you are
willing to stop frequently and trim the branches back, you're going
home with racing stripes on the side of your truck. If you come
up on sand or anything else that strikes the sense of compromise
in your mind while driving your Suburban, you won't get that feeling
on one of these. They are a pleasure to ride.

| Horse Carcass |
On this test run we were able
to travel a trail I've always wanted to take but haven't because
of the reasons I just mentioned regarding difficult trails for large
land vehicles.
We came across this well weathered carcass which
we believed to be a wild horse. We found it near a coyote den. It
looked like something out of a Road Runner cartoon with rib and
other bones clearly visible.
