| Shooting Range In Full Bloom |
The shooting range is in full bloom
with wild flowers as a result of early spring rain. Actually, they're
more like tall weeds but they do provide quite a bit of color. Too
bad it was a cloudy day when this picture was taken. In bright sunlight
this view is incredible.
You think you've seen everything
out in the desert after going out there for so many years but something
always seems to amaze me. This time it was horse tracks and a lot
of their shiat (I visited my uncle's farm as a kid and recognize
the patties).
I thought tire tracks were bad. However, the
owners kept their equine visitors well behaved aside from minor
teeth marks on the side of Al's Summer House as well as shiat on
the outside walls, literally.
I guess horse drivers don't think of bringing
pooper scoopers when out in the desert. Why would they?
How did these people and the horses they rode
in on get out there? Baker, the nearest city, is 21 miles away.
Maybe in horse terms that's not more than a days ride. In my favorite
western movies a "days ride" was halfway across Texas.
